My name is Natalie, and I am a foodie, Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist. I love cooking; fruits and vegetables; coffee and dark chocolate! I enjoy deep conversations; reading; and exploring Nature.
I often think about Life in metaphors…especially when it comes to food!
I was born and raised in Illinois. Then, in 2010, my husband, Dave, and I moved away from friends and family to North Dakota for his work.
We had no clue that Life would turn out to be such a wild adventure!
In the scope of a few short years, we experienced so many big life events strung one after another. We became parents to a beautiful girl, Lydia in late 2011.
In May 2012, Dave was diagnosed out-of-the-blue with stage IV colon cancer. He cheerfully and gracefully fought for his life–he never complained once.
Then, in May 2013, after a long year that included three surgeries, chemo, and other treatments, Dave died. In an instant, I became both a widow and single mom. Despite these unforeseen circumstances, God is still with us. I can see how He is always working everything out for His glory and our good.
God used these experiences to conquer fears, stretch my faith, and challenge me to keep moving forward. I am so grateful for God’s faithful provision. Looking back, I can see His hand working all throughout my life. He has given me a renewed sense of purpose.
God’s grace meets every need, no matter how big or small. Life is tough, but God is GOOD. I hope you are encouraged through my story and perspective!
